On Monday November 11th, the halls of RVHS will be filled with 300 kids attending Leadership School.
At Leadership School, students compete in:
-Chapter Parliamentary Procedure Demonstration with an exam
-Chapter Rituals (Opening and Closing ceremonies)
-FFA Information Test
-Greenhand Parliamentary Procedure
-Greenhand Rituals
-Greenhand Examination
Greenhand is for first-year members with Greenhand A and B divisions. There is only one Chapter division. Six rooms will be used at a time for demonstrations. There will be 12 judges coming in from throughout Kansas that are past FFA members or advisors from other locations that are experts in these areas.
Ms. Clark said, “Our teams have been practicing for several months. The Chapter Leadership team started by competing in the State Rituals Quiz Bowl last spring and then started studying FFA information in September. The Parliamentary Procedure team has been having morning practices for about 6-8 weeks. The Greenhand team has been preparing during their Introduction to Agriculture class.”
The top two winning Parliamentary Procedure teams will advance to state competition. The top two winning Greenhand division teams will move onto state as well.
Ms. Clark also added, “Our teams should be pretty competitive. They are driven members who have put in the time to study and practice.”
Good luck to all who are competing.
