On Thursday, November 14th, the RVHS Zoology class taught by Mrs. Swank went to the SEA LIFE Aquarium in Kansas City. They saw sea life from both freshwater and saltwater tanks, including sharks, sting rays, and seahorses.
Students then went to the touch pool where they could touch starfish, sea urchins, shark eggs, and more. The group finished the trip by eating lunch at Crown Center.
Speaking about the trip, Zoology teacher Mrs. Swank said, “The class just finished their lesson about invertebrates, so I thought this was a good way to see marine life when you live in Kansas.”
When asked about the day, Analicia Efigenio, senior, said: “My favorite part about the trip was touching the squishy starfish.”
The SEA LIFE Aquarium is open to the public and is located in the Crown Center complex at 2475 Grand Blvd, in Kansas City, Missouri.
If you go, Efigenio recommends visiting the touch pool.
